Location:

the surf & yoga kitchen

The Surf and Yoga Kitchen in Essen combines the relaxed lifestyle of a surfing holiday with the soothing power of yoga. Here, a love of surfing, water and the energy of nature is combined with a deep passion for yoga – whether on the mat, in the grass, on the sand or on a SUP board. The warmly designed location invites you to immerse yourself in an open community where ease, exchange and new encounters arise naturally. And why ‘Kitchen’? Because this space stands for lived community: for sharing, togetherness and genuine conversations – as inseparable as water and waves, surfboard and leash, or yoga and savasana.

Let’s create flow together

on the mat, on the board and in the community.

Strala Yoga Guide & Mindfulness Trainer

I am a Yoga enthusiast, saltwater soul, wave dancer and founder of Surf and Yoga Kitchen. Yoga has been part of my life for 19 years – and I have been teaching Strala Yoga and many other styles of yoga for 9 years.

For me, Strala Yoga means natural, intuitive movement. One transition flows into the next, easily and freely – like waves. This is exactly the feeling I love about longboarding: balance, creativity, letting go and being carried along.

As a saltwater soul in the Ruhr area, I guide people in Germany and across Europe to experience movement in a relaxed, authentic and natural way again. My further training and personal experiences flow into every session – honest, lively and with an open heart.

My mission is to create spaces where the head and heart come together. Places where we let go and rediscover the joy of movement.

Debby

Longboard instructor

The longboard has been with me for almost half my life. I started longboard dancing quite early on and immediately fell in love with the sport. I had never before practised a sport that motivated me so much. So I started training several times a week and constantly expanding my repertoire of steps and tricks.

Today, the sport is an integral part of my life and I am infinitely grateful for that. Longboard dancing has brought many people into my life whom I would not want to be without. In addition, I was able to gain great experience in various advertising jobs and started my own business in 2021.

It gives me enormous pleasure to pass on my knowledge and experience to others. I celebrate every little success of the participants myself, because I know exactly how great that feeling is. It doesn’t matter whether the person is on the board for the first time or has been doing it for a long time.

Longboarding is not only a practical way to get around, it also builds self-confidence, promotes body awareness and sharpens your eye for the small successes in life. I am very much looking forward to passing on this joy to you.
